Photo Dump From OZ – Pre/Post Show

Kamron, Blake, Taylor
Left to right:  Kamron, Blake, Taylor – see the brown clothes? Again, these costumes are from the Kansas scene. Taylor’s part came up just before Intermission…his main job was working on the stage crew!

I tried to take before and after photos.

Here are a few from the – short – time I spent in the back room with the munchkins; it was anxiety inducing.

DSC_0371There were constant Disney movies playing as background noise – add to that a group of moms trying to make sure all the costumes were on and makeup was applied.

DSC_0369If I ever become a stage mom…nope, no I don’t think I will become a stage mom. I will support and encourage others who  bravely become one.

Siblings - eight of them (of 12!!) all in one show.

I enjoy my job as a floating – do what I please – lady with a camera.

I believe that need for freedom with a camera comes from my dad.

Every October OZ FEST brings vendors and entertainers for a day of family fun.

This is the last year (and only second time) that Rebecca will direct the Wizard of Oz play – it’s been done for many years, with many different renditions (good and bad) and people are wanting a change in theme.

Might I suggest some ideas? The Sound of Music “A Day In Salzberg” or Seven Bride For Seven Brothers “Dress Like A Lumberjack and Eat Pancakes” Day…

Variety is good.

OZ Fest only lasted one day, but the play showed for two weekends.

We took Wiley to see at least three shows…of which, he watched most of two of them.

Luckily my husband took the baby much of the time, so I was free to record and photograph the memories.

My oldest brother is really great with the baby.

My dad, who usually walks around with his camera, lent his SD/Memory card from his camera so I wouldn’t have to purchase one just for recording the show.

Thanks Dad.

Before each show, three of Rebecca’s girls play music – fiddling and some more contemporary songs.

In this time, the audience can wait in line to buy popcorn/drinks and visit with friends.

I’m usually setting up my equipment, because I get to the theater late….

Just before the last show – during this pre-musical music – my younger brother Konnor opened the curtain while some of the cast members were dancing on stage and the entire audience got a good laugh.

What was a private laugh behind a curtain, was shared with the whole.

I love live theater.

Autographs — don’t think I didn’t see you back there cheesing it up in the background.

When the show wrapped, I was sad it was over.

I appreciate all the time and work that went into making this show so fun to watch.

DSC_0516The next show coming up is the musical Christmas Carol based on Dickens.

But, it wont be a cast full of children and teenagers. It will mostly be adults and a very small cast at that.

Wow…Christmas Carol? This year went fast.

Enjoy October, it will be over before we know it!
